Group Therapy
In-person sessions focused on building social confidence. This evidence-based, semi-structured group offers a safe space to learn skills and practice connecting with others.


Therapy in Japanese

Individual Therapy
Individual therapy offers a safe space to explore, understand, and develop effective skills to navigate challenges you are experiencing.
What sessions might be like:
We examine your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at a pace that is comfortable for you. Sessions are adapted to meet your needs and specific circumstances. Our work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), while also drawing from other therapeutic frameworks to support your goals. We strive to help you gain a better understanding of your thought patterns and behaviors, while also working to manage and alleviate your struggles.
In summary, sessions are meant to be flexible and adjust to your needs.
What sort of things are addressed in therapy?
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, cultural stressors, or feeling stuck, the aim of individual therapy is to help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence. We believe that therapy is a collaborative process and our goal is to help you feel supported and equipped as you make meaningful changes in your life.


Group Therapy
DC CBT offers group therapy sessions. All group therapy sessions are held as in-person appointments. Virtual or hybrid options are not available. Our primary group therapy offering at this time is the Building Social Confidence social anxiety treatment group.
Building Social Confidence Group
The Building Social Confidence (BSC) group is an in-person, mixed gender group available to adults 18 and older who want to address their social anxiety in a group setting. Sessions run on Tuesday evenings at the Dupont Circle office.

Teletherapy
Teletherapy sessions, also known as telepsychology, provide a way for individuals to receive therapy services without commuting to the therapist’s office. Telepsychology provides unique advantages over in-person appointments as we can conduct sessions in your home or in other familiar environments. Additionally, telepsychology gives us an option of having sessions in unfamiliar settings that you might find to be challenging to navigate on your own.
Security:
All telepsychology sessions use a HIPAA-secure videoconferencing service for medical and mental health professionals.
Locations:
We provide telepsychology sessions to individuals in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as to people in a PSYPACT state. PSYPACT is an interstate compact that facilitates the practice of psychology across state boundaries. Please check the PSYPACT state map to see which jurisdictions participate in this compact.


Therapy in Japanese
Therapy conducted entirely in Japanese for adults who feel most at ease speaking their native language. Dr. Noguchi is a bilingual, Japanese-American psychologist. He offers culturally attuned CBT for anxiety, depression, and cross-cultural stressors, available in person near Dupont Circle or via secure telehealth.

「英語だと自分の考えている事を伝えられるか不安」、あるいは「やっぱり悩み事は日本語で話したい」。そういう方に日本語でのセラピーをご提供致します。対象の方は主にワシントンDC、メリーランド、そしてバージニア在住の大人(18歳以上)です。セラピー経験者も未経験もオーケーです。詳しくは日本語のページをご覧くださいますよう、お願いいたします。
